This Page will have to stay as it is an informative resource for people building on the coastline. Comments and or questions are welcome.

This is a stilt home, because of coastal regulations Polysteel® could only be used in constructing the stairwell on the lower level. All other walls had to be built out of concrete block as they are to be break-away walls (they must fall over in the event of tide surge). The columns are filled with concrete and capped with solid concrete beams

Here is a picture of the stair well being filled with concrete. As with all our walls the concrete is vibrated using the mechanical vibrator, next to the pump man on the wall.

With the beams and columns poured, the precast panels for the floor are set.

Up on the deck we start the wall assembly.

Then we pour the walls full of concrete, again the guy in the red shirt is not up there to keep the pump man company. The concrete is vibrated to insure consistency.

The trusses are beginning to be set.

Here it is with some more of the carpentry done.

And here is the other side of the house.

Here is a picture of the home with stucco and a little paint. There is to be more done and there will be some finished photos in the near future.
